CRITICIZING PHOTOGRAPHS

PROPOSAL

I try to explain how a critique helps a person show their work to others to see how they think and feel about their photos.
1)Describing: Describing photographs deals with observation from other people about what they see when looking at an artists work. Through viewing, one describes the subject to gain an understanding on what the photographer was intending to show.
2)Interpreting: Interpreting photographs is how after one looks at the photo, tries to explain what he or she feels the picture is about. An individual has an opinion that might be expressed by others or have a completely different reaction to it. This might even have a total opposite thought from the artist himself.
3)Evaluating: Does the photo itself show the photographers point? When looking at it, is there enough information to build an idea about their subject? When I try to evaluate the photograph, I see if I like it and get their intentions.
